Pixlr is the best option we would suggest for you if you are a person who is skilled at photo editing and searching for an Adobe Photoshop substitute that suits your budget. Additionally, Canva has a constrained output format that makes it difficult to submit it to a qualified designer or editor for professional revisions. Although Canva offers a 30-day option to retrieve deleted content, in our opinion, it would be preferable if it developed a reliable backup system. It has an extensive library of templates for every use, so there’s no need to reinvent the wheel whenever you want to make something new. Additionally, Canva makes profile page design a breeze with its intuitive tools and customizable templates. It’s time for you graphic artists out there to create your own billboards, posters, business cards, and even icons for free.

The Owl House TV Series 2020 2023 Full Cast & Crew

king the owl house

However, he is shocked to learn that the demons who look like him, are in fact witches. Their tribe is responsible for the complete destruction of every Titan, except for King, who learns he's the last of his kind. He is the diminutive sidekick of Eda, who at the start of the series believed he was the so-called "King of Demons" and that he was trapped in a small, cute, fluffy body. He often acts like a monarch, treating people and stuffed animals as minions, ordering others to tremble at his feet and loves to act bigger than he really is.

Eda Clawthorne

king the owl house

King is also shown to be lazy, often lying around the house napping instead of working, and at times must be forced or blackmailed to do work, much to his annoyance. It is implied that him trying to regain his kingly status might be so that he can have an excuse to get out of doing menial labor. He relies on accessories meant for babies, such as high chairs and carriers. King keeps a lot of plush toys that he claims are his subjects and tries to take over the playground.

Other appearances

King has a domineering personality and always has a mighty opinion of himself. He seems to suffer from a form of Napoleon Complex as much of his behavior stems from him wanting to be seen as above others. He can be mildly irritable and occasionally gives a passive-aggressive demeanor.

Season Three

He wears a red collar with a round light golden tag and a dinosaur like skull with horns (one broken, which is later glued back on in "Echoes of the Past") covering his face. She found him on a mysterious island while escaping from the Emperor's Coven, and took him with her to the Owl House. King believes himself to be better than Eda by title and is not afraid to go up against her to prove himself as seen in "I Was a Teenage Abomination". He hates admitting that he was wrong about anything to her as it would give her bragging rights. Due to his small body, he is usually found being held like an infant by her, showing that they are at least close. In "Eda's Requiem", King legally becomes Eda's adopted son, showing that he does look up to her in a maternal way.

Appearances

However, due to being so cute and small, he gets the opposite reaction towards people. Instead of fearing him they adore him with a lot of unwanted affection which annoys him.

Following Eda's capture at the hands of Lilith Clawthorne and the Emperor's Coven, King was ready to join Luz on heading back to rescue her. They eventually team up with a reformed Lilith and work together to free Eda. King even convinces Eda that Lilith had changed for the better and that she was willingly giving up her place in the coven to help her. After Luz frees Eda and Lilith splits the curse between her and her sister, King once again shows his support for her friends. In the final show, King is a small, short canine/feline-like creature with dark gray fur and gray underbelly and tail tip.

king the owl house

Physical appearance

The small infant proceeded to make use of his new home by creating "subjects" (rock figures) and having a "glorious" feast (actually just bugs). One day, he was found by Eda Clawthorne, who was trying to escape the Emperor's Coven. Finding him adorable and believing he was all alone, she "rescued" him from the creature, but he broke his horn during the escape; causing him to lose some of his memory. Upon returning to Eda's home, she began to care for him like a pet, until she learned that he was capable of speaking.

He and Eda agree to have Luz retrieve his crown from the Confromitorium, a place where they take misfits and incarcerate them. They find his crown, but it is a small fast food children's meal crown, most likely as it is the only thing that vaguely reminds him of his real crown. After having his first adventure with her, King suddenly begins warming up to Luz and even prefers sleeping with her like a dog. Eight years ago prior to season two, she was looking for a place to hide from the Emperor's coven. She found an uncharted island and headed to a tower to get out of the boiling rain. Later in the episode, it is revealed that King was hatched from an egg and the creature was trying to protect him from intruders.

One day she saw King playing around and remarked he was like acting like a king. That was the first time he spoke and from that day forward he thought he was a demon overlord. King treats Luz's friends the same way he once treated Luz herself when they first met. He seems to tolerate Willow and Gus, but had very negative feelings toward Amity when they first met as seen in "Covention". He personally sees them as beneath him, but has grown to be amicable with them.

When Lilith questions his identity as the king of demons, King attempts to prove his claims by taking Luz, Lilith, and Hooty to his "kingdom". The visit ends with the coming of a strange creature trying to hurt the quartet, but Eda shows up and allows the quartet to flee while she holds it off. Devastated by the truth, King flees into the jungle and Luz later finds him on the beach, having come to terms with the fact that he is nobody. Luz manages to convince him that there are still things he can really know about himself in the temple. Escaping the creature once more, the group arrives at the room where King once hatched. Putting his horn back on, King finally remembers the sounds he heard inside his egg and that the creature was actually his guardian.

She dubbed him "King", due to his interest in ruling subjects, and invented a story for him, which he took to heart. Not wanting to be taken as a fool or a helpless creature, he had successfully convinced himself that this was the truth and laughed or ridiculed those who denied his belief. King is shocked at the appearance of Luz, not because she is a human, but because her first instinct was to run up and cuddle him, which frightens him to no end.

However, as the series progresses, he begins to soften and has started to lower his defenses more. In truth, he actually wants to be loved and appreciated by those around him, especially from Luz whom he has platonic feelings for. King Clawthorne is one of the deuteragonists of the Disney Channel animated series The Owl House. He is a young Titan who claims to be a former ruler, yet displays childlike mannerisms.

In "Really Small Problems", he wanted to keep Luz to himself and keep Willow and Gus away, but by the end sees how important they are to her and accepts them as his friends. It is implied that once Amity started being friends with Luz, that King too started to tolerate her as well. Nevertheless, he sometimes displays a passive-aggressive nature around them, but it is usually in good fun. King also begins developing a better grasp on trying to be more sociable as it is later revealed that he suffers stage fright. This all implies that while he was the King of Demons, he never actually spent much time around others besides Eda and Hooty. It is also apparent that because of Luz, King starts to be more selfless, trying to help or and Eda with their problems before doing anything about his own.

These events usually end up backfiring on him, and he has to resort to admitting his fault and asking for help to fix his problem. Because of this, his stories tend to serve mostly as the B plot to episodes. At one point, he begins to take his time with Luz very seriously, to the point that he considers himself a secondary teacher to Luz besides Eda. He also slowly becomes more affectionate and humble as time goes on, most likely due to the influence of Luz and her happy demeanor. This comes to a point where he felt threatened by the appearance of Willow Park and Gus Porter, but he soon learns to treat them like friends as well.

Christmas Stocking Garland

My virtual yoga instructor watched it all via FaceTime, frozen in horror as she watched the fire’s light and thick black smoke fill my living room. She saw us leave out of a door, but wasn’t sure where we’d gone. A fire department investigation deemed the cause inconclusive. So we’ll never know what exactly caused the biggest change of our lives. It was a day like any other — the day my home was engulfed by fire.

Spring for a Surprising Pop of Color

Mudroom cubbies can display small collections, favorite ornaments, and family heirlooms. Garlands are plenty festive on their own, but if you want to take it a step further, attach a few ornaments, lights, and pinecones to the branches and let it shine. If you're hosting the Christmas feast this year, don't hold back. After all, there's only one day of the year on which a table decorated with holly, red, and berries works. Speaking of bows, how magnificent is this tree that's completely decked out in colorful ribbons?

Top Your Mantel with Winter Blooms

Buy two different wrapping materials in different colors and textures. Then, find five to six selections of diverse ribbons, making sure to choose spools of various widths. As the popular saying goes, "waste not, want not." Stretch your holiday décor to its maximum limit by using every last decoration to bring Christmas merriment into your home.

Cheer Up Your Entry Way

So don’t just think about what your home looks like—think about what it smells like, too. Lindsey Lanquist is a design expert for MyDomaine, covering the latest home trends and design tips. In addition to serving as former senior editor at StyleCaster and staff writer at Self, her work has appeared in Cosmopolitan, Byrdie, Verywell, SheKnows, Nylon, and more. Hang pine garland, velvet bows, pinecones, and pheasant feathers along your banister for an entry guests won't soon forget. Petite wreaths come together in a snap to dress up empty tabletops.

The ribbon ends should be cut so that they just skim the floor. In lieu of the traditional reds and greens of holiday flowers, use bright peacock feathers on your mantel as a statement piece. First, select a neutral container for the feathers – we chose this concrete plant box as a solid foundation.

Don't neglect outdoor patios and porches in your Christmas decorating. Because we live in the South, our winters are much more mild, and we can use our screen porches all the way through the Christmas season. Decorate your outdoor spaces with wreaths, candles, and large glowing orbs to draw guests outside to cozy up by the fire.

Using your fingers, clear a place for the LED light (turned on) to rest. Wait until its dark out, and you have a glowing luminary to light up your drive. Let the celebratory spirit linger by pairing sunny, sturdy amaryllis with poinsettias.

Fill Your Home With Candles

Across this room's open-air archway is nestled another plush stool and mirror, identical to the arrangement pictured above. The matching pairs of items add symmetry to a room, and help expand a smaller space. These stools are functional, as they can also act as extra seating for Christmas entertaining. The mirrors help visually enlarge the small space to open it for plenty of holiday entertaining.

The limes accentuate the green tones from the branches and connect them to the base, a large pewter tray that offers a bit of shimmer without the shine of silver. PLATINUM BASE FOR CUSTOMIZATIONWith a base of PLATINUM ornaments in textures of shiny, matte and glitter this is beautiful as it is. However, we can easily customize this look by adding colored ornaments, to create exciting color palettes. GOLD BASE FOR CUSTOMIZATIONWith a base of GOLD ornaments in textures of shiny, matte and glitter this is beautiful as it is. SILVER BASE FOR CUSTOMIZATIONWith a base of SILVER ornaments in textures of shiny, matte and glitter this is beautiful as it is.

Finish your design with cascading blue and red velvet ribbons. Instead of displaying dining room name cards on simple card holders, make them festive! This holiday host enlisted her childhood collection of Steinbach nutcrackers to hold gold-scripted place cards that match the holiday dinner menu cards. Use a gold paint pen for metallic penmanship, and adorn the top with a gold foil holly sprig. The front porch is just as essential as the living room, so if you have extra garland or bows, bring them outdoors. And if you don't have a mantle piece, try adding foliage or a garland and paper decorations above your pictures and prints or along some shelves.

The modern cottage style has become wildly popular in recent years, and we keep hearing about it in the interior design world. Modern Cottage combines rustic cottage charm with elevated and sophisticated design. Think vintage English cottage with touches of modern, yet timeless luxury. If you like the sound of hardwood floors, brass details, natural stone, and muted paint colors you are going to adore this style. You might also want to look to some inspiration for your living room, whether you'd like to add some white living room ideas or opt for some rustic touches.

Clean and White

A cottage-style kitchen has all the modern conveniences but includes charming details and decor touches to make it feel homey and timeless. Cottage-style kitchens are similar to farmhouse-style spaces, with vintage and rustic elements, but tend to be slightly softer and more romantic in style. Modern cottage style is an interior design aesthetic that blends sleek designs with vintage charm. More infused with a spirit than put together according to a set of rules, cottage-style interiors have a happy informality. Rooms are airy and intimate at the same time, with nooks and alcoves that offer both curl-up daydreaming spots and space-saving built-in storage—after all, who can relax if there’s clutter all around? From colorful weathered paint to warm stained wood, finishes are touchable rather than hands-off and only get better with age.

What Characterizes the Modern Cottage Interior Design Style?

A cottage style can be designed with the right furniture, colors, fabrics, materials and decorations to achieve an unpretentious, sweet living space. Wide plank hardwood floors fit right into the modern cottage interior design style. Perfection is not the goal when designing in the modern cottage style. The very first thing we did before moving into our 1800s home was to sand down the old hardwood floors, stain them, and seal them with oil. Cottages are often surrounded by idyllic countryside, so cottage decorating ideas should naturally include earthy and muted colors inspired by the landscape.

Leave windows open to let streams of light through, but keep plenty of lamps on tables for additional light at night. For decorative details, visit thrift stores or antique fairs to find vintage items that go along with your style. A milk glass vase with a bouquet of wildflowers or an antique typewriter brings in some character and shows off your interests. White painted shutters with sideways slats would achieve this in a beach-themed home, while sheer or lacy white curtains would be perfect in a space with rustic or farmhouse elements. Other furniture like cabinets, tables, and sideboards are often made from wood. That wood can be left natural with just a warm and light wood stain, or it can be painted.

What Does It Mean to Rebuild After a House Fire? The New York Times

christmas house decorations

Stock up on some greens at your local market—or grab some from your backyard—and layer them to create your own garlands. You can save storage space by tossing your décor back into nature once the holidays are done. If you can hold a bunch of lilies in your hand and wrap the stems with rubber bands, you can whip up a knockout arrangement that's ideal for your buffet. Gather 8 to 12 stems of 'Casablanca' lilies in one hand, and cut stems so they're about 15 inches long. Wrap a rubber band around the stems at the top and another about 5 inches from the bottom. Insert the bundle into the center of a piece of water-soaked florist foam fitted into a casserole dish.

A super quick decor idea? Stockings and greenery

We even asked quite a few renowned interior designers for their own decorative schemes when December rolls around. Though some stick to the traditional motifs and palettes, others take a totally unexpected approach. You’ll have to keep scrolling to see the most out-of-the-box decorating ideas. If you have time, we suggest going big with the decorations and outfitting more than just the living room. Otherwise, take a minimalist route and enlist only a few pieces of decor. Garlands make a classic addition to any holiday décor scheme.

From Start to finish,

Copy this look by keeping your color scheme nice and neutral and instead add interest with textures. Mix glass baubles with larger paper ones and make sure you add in lots of greenery too. We love the soft, vintage-inspired look, and we are up for sporting what is one of the cutest throwback Christmas decorating ideas around.

Christmas Tree Boho-Style Wall Hanging

For your holiday tree this year, swap the perishable popcorn-and-cranberry garland for strands of timeless wooden beads. These pre-lit pinecones will infuse your holiday decor with a little woodland charm. Liven up your living room with one of these absolutely adorable tabletop trees made entirely of shiny baubles. This doormat will put all your guests in a festive mood before they even set foot your home.

Turn Your Tree Into an Advent Calendar

They're reusable, unfussy, and an easy way to add color to greenery in passthrough spaces like the entry. If your home has a small entry once you walk in, use that as a chance to get decked out for the holidays. This entryway by designer Maggie Dillon features garlands of greenery and red bows around the stairwell and mirror for an immediate Christmassy welcome. Indoor Christmas decorations aren't just for the living room.

Don't ignore the kitchen Christmas decorations

Dress up the backs of your outdoor chairs by tying graceful swags of magnolia leaves and aromatic eucalyptus sprigs to each chair arm with a red, festive ribbon. Just be sure to attach the trimmings in a manner that won't crowd someone when seated. This rustic Christmas mantel décor is an easy Pinterest craft that even your 3-year-old couldn't mess up.

Top the Tree with Bells

Adhere the glitter to the ornaments using adhesive spray, Mod Podge, or color-coordinated paint. Experiment with patterns for more intricate and handmade details. Maintaining a quality collection of fluted vases, julep cups, and chalices makes it easy to display (and replace) choice blooms throughout the season. The foliage base will take you well past New Year's; and the flowers will last five days. To create this look, begin with a base of artificial garland. Then tuck in layers of two kinds of fresh eucalyptus (silver dollar and seeded), as well as dusty miller placed in water tubes.

These versatile, handcrafted coasters will add the perfect personal touch to your holiday entertaining. Coasters are an absolute must for any Southern gathering, where drinks are flowing in the nearby vicinity of antique wooden tables. In order to protect your favorite furniture from watermarks, make sure you equip your guests with the proper defense, like these DIY coasters. Choose a pattern of fabric that best fits your theme, such as a festive tartan print. Cut the fabric into small coaster-sized squares using fabric shears, and then slide the squares into photo coasters. Suspend lanterns from the underside of a patio covering or umbrella with red ribbon or fishing wire.

A few sprigs of pine, rosemary, or cypress are the essential elements. Tie pinecones and berries with a velvet bow in a contrasting tone. This simple, handmade element will complement any stairwell or mantle.

Festive tassels adorning your doors, desk, or chest of drawers can be a finishing touch that is also budget-friendly. String them along your shelves or create a Christmas window display for an even more festive touch. You can mix and match colors, bauble styles and all the rustic Christmas decor you'd like to create an artfully thrown-together look. Go for white or pale wood, and then add pops of color with red or deep green. Give your room a festive feel with candles, and evergreen sprigs on every surface and of course a Scandi-approved Christmas tree. Sure, you might not have room for a tree in there, but copy this Christmas decorating idea and hang some foliage around a doorway, in your cabinets and over your lighting.

With this arrangement, when Pawpaw makes a joke, everyone gets to laugh along with him. An oversized lantern hanging above the table casts a romantic glow, and is a fresh alternative to a traditional chandelier. Mismatched chairs add to the casual, relaxed atmosphere in this comfortable Christmas dining room. Instead of a traditional table runner, try placing boot trays, or shallow trays, end to end down the full lengthwise center of your dining room table.

When it comes to this time of year, a good rule of thumb is the more the merrier. While there are obvious limitations to this saying, we firmly believe that when you get the chance to incorporate unique holiday details around your home, you should. So grab your garland and trim your wreaths because we're decking the halls inside and out. These decorating ideas for your mantel, front door, mailbox, Christmas tree, and more will surely fill you with holiday cheer. We show you how to put a twist on tradition with handmade willow-branch wreaths that are just as joyful inside or on a front door.

christmas house decorations

Look for out-of-the-way display areas, such as the top of a chest, to add sparkle and shine. Whether your vignette stays up year-round—like this collection of mercury glass—or is seasonal, keep the fluffing simple so it doesn't compete with the collection. Cut appropriate lengths of greenery, like fresh magnolia, boxwood, pine, fir, winterberry, and American cranberry bush berries to fit vessels.

Your front door is the first thing a person will see when visiting your home. Invest in a really great wreath, and put a different festive spin on it every single year. You don’t have to display all the décor you own, so keep the focus on your favorites. Sure, you could snag a single Christmas tree and throw some ornaments on it.

15 Modern Cabin Interior Ideas That Are Fresh and Fun

On the peak of a snowy mountain, or tucked in a pine forest overlooking a lake, cabin decor typically pays tribute to nature, while also creating a reprieve from it. In the master bedroom of this Catskills home, sunny-yellow paint and an exuberant green-and-white print enlivens the small space. The low-pitched roof created a seemingly unusable three-foot-high gap on each side of the room. A carpenter was contracted to fill one side with bookshelves, and the other with cabinets and storage drawers. For a personal touch, include handmade, custom, or repurposed furniture.

Use a neutral palette to highlight rustic features

Try painting the millwork in a vibrant hue pulled from wallpaper for a more daring look. Cottage decorating ideas aim to make a space welcoming and easy-going for an atmosphere where family and friends always feel right at home. Cottage Light Fixtures

With its upholstered headboard in uplifting yellow, the Laura Ashley Houghton bed really helps soften the rustic surfaces in this Welsh cottage bedroom. Put a fresh twist on cottage decorating ideas with modern furniture and pared-down decor. Layered area rugs, pillows in various patterns, and collected accessories establish a cottage feel in this living room, but the vaulted ceilings and streamlined furniture freshen the look. The striped area rug repeats the straight lines of the wall paneling and ceiling beams for eye-pleasing continuity. While a monochromatic all-white color scheme is gorgeous and pristine, if you prefer a little color, look for soft pastel shades that complement the surrounding environment. Popular, versatile and cute country cottage style colors to consider include light green, pink, yellow and purple is varying combinations.

Cottage Decorating Ideas to Add Cozy Character to Any Room

Durable paneling and a soft shade of green paint knit the pieces together. The grooved wall treatment instantly cozies up bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and more. Look for faux beaded board at local home improvement stores for a low-cost, easy-to-install option.

Soft Brick Veneer

If you decide to use a bright color, try to stick with one statement color that becomes the focus rather than a mix of bold hues. Modern aesthetics typically veer away from bold colors and intricate patterns. Instead, opt for muted colors that work well together and sleek, streamlined furniture with a futuristic feel. Creating a clean, white space gives you a place to escape to and reset when life gets hectic. This immaculate aesthetic is another beautiful option for cottages located near beaches or lakes. Avoid decorating too much on the walls or other surfaces that will make the cottage feel cramped rather than capacious.

Set the tone in your cozy cottage by sticking with soft, welcoming colors. It gains personality from playful prints, mismatched hand-me-downs, and is softened by invitingly cozy furniture. Don't worry about the finish or the wood color, instead look for beautiful shapes that will shine once painted. When you have spotted the perfect piece, simply sand down, coat with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint and sand again once dry to create this weathered French look. Don't worry about stems being different lengths or about colors clashing, this variety of blooms jostling for attention is key to the quaint cottage look. When it comes to cottage style 'fresh garden or hedge row flowers are a must and can mark the difference between urban and country living,' reveals Vanessa Arbuthnott.

Wooden Hawk House

Introduce cottage character to any home with style-appropriate furniture. Here, a classic wrought-iron bed frame and an antique nightstand add a sense of age to this bedroom. Lots of pillows and a textured coverlet dress the bed with cottage style. Select fabrics in pretty patterns for a quaint cottage decorating idea.

These spaces often get a dose of nostalgic charm from vintage-look fixtures and fittings, hardware, and woodwork details that seem to turn back the clock on today’s high-stress, high-tech lifestyle. Most any place can use a helping of cottage coziness, as long as the goal is to create an inviting interior with a carefree, well-lived-in look. Here and on the following pages, we highlight some key features that you can borrow to give your own home that uplifting, easygoing feeling. A jute basket from World Market, filled with colorful quilts, sits beneath a reclaimed-oak table. This California cottage's mudroom boasts a 1930s factory stool, which retains its original green paint, while the iron hooks on the coatrack swivel from side to side. The homeowner of this restored Arkansas home upgraded the fixtures with chandeliers, and the Jenny Lind-style bed is one of the few furnishings she kept in the bedroom. The rooms of this Arkansas home were stuffed with mismatched furniture covered in musty 1980s linens, but the homeowner spotted enough gems in the mix to buy the place fully furnished. She saved only the pieces with potential or items that were stunning as is, like the sage cupboard and the chippy dining table.

Whether your property is your home or a vacation house for quiet getaways, cottages work with many home styles, ranging from country-chic to sleek and modern to simple and subtle. To make cottages cozy, homely spaces, curtains or fabric blinds – or both – are one of the best options; their soft pleats lend a relaxed feel to a space. Cottage living rooms can be small and lack light due to small windows – opting for white or off white walls throughout is an easy way to maximize any natural light. A key component of a cottage facade, front doors contribute hugely to their sought-after, unique character and charm. Whether a solid wood plank design, framed four-panel Victorian design, or 1930s style with upper lights, if your cottage still has its original door, then try wherever possible to preserve it rather than replace it. A classic range cooker has become an iconic feature of a cottage kitchen.

Just because your home doesn't have a traditional cabin structure doesn't mean you can't make it feel that way inside. While this Connecticut cottage's living room's upholstered furniture is white, the sofa and chairs are also purposefully deconstructed, with tufted fronts and exposed burlap-and-wood backs. A settee and two armchairs by Restoration Hardware cozy up to a Zentique coffee table. Get ready to fall in love with your home all over again as you infuse it with rustic, nature-inspired charm and craft your very own segment of the glorious English countryside.

Designer Kate Hunt added historic charm back to her client's gut-renovated Long Island home with reclaimed, salvaged and repurposed materials, including wood from a local barn. Erase barriers between interior and exterior by “bringing the outdoors in.” Use porches, patios, decks, and terraces to extend living areas. The two speciality restaurants, Aqualina and Prime C, are wonderful, serving classy Italian and steak and seafood respectively. Best for foodiesIt’s hard not to lust after the Regent Seven Seas Voyager. Bask in its 354 opulent suites and indulge in the food — its six restaurants serve exquisite fine dining, including a French speciality restaurant and Compass Rose, where you’ll eat from Versace plates under opulent chandeliers. Every suite on the 700-passenger Voyager has butler service, a marble-lined bathroom and a private veranda. Enjoy blissful days lounging on deck, round the pool — waiters remember your name and your favourite drink from day one, while thoughtful attendants will even polish your sunglasses.

Best Luxury Cruise For Families: MSC, MSC World Europa

The all-inclusive cruise line crafts a new definition of the category with complimentary roundtrip airfare, free unlimited shore excursions, include 2- to 3-night land programs, on-the-house bar and lounge experiences, and more. Celebrity Beyond, which debuted in 2022, accommodates 3,260 guests has 32 bars and restaurants, like Le Voyage by chef Daniel Boulud, and two-story villas on board. Whether it's a river or an ocean you want to cruise, Scenic can take you there in style. On board, you'll find fine dining, expansive spas and fitness facilities, and butler service. Like fine European hotels or the fanciest boutique properties, the ships of the best luxury cruise lines are designed to appeal to people who seek — and can afford — an elegant style of travel. The first ocean cruising vessel for Australian company Scenic, Scenic Eclipse offers the experience of a luxury yacht as opposed to an oversized cruise ship.

Top 5 Existing And Upcoming Private Cruise Destinations

Book yourself in for some indulgence in the Retreat, a sanctuary on the 12th deck, where a private cabana can be yours for the day. Note that this ship isn’t for you if you’re a minimalist who prefers to avoid alcohol and fine dining. While you’d still have a wonderful time, you would be paying for the indulgence of others.

Founded about 30 years ago by climber Greg Mortimer and inspired by the female marine biologist after whom it’s named, the 132-passenger Sylvia Earle has exploration ingrained in its DNA. It’s no surprise, then, that the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and eager with an up-for-anything attitude (remote seas, some of the world’s highest peaks, you name it). Plus, the onboard amenities rival any luxury cruise—a rarity on expedition ships.

Expect dance parties with circus and diva performers and lots of day drinking. You can shake your phone while using the ship’s app to request a bottle of champagne delivered to you anywhere on the ship. Dining is complimentary at restaurants including a Korean BBQ spot complete with drinking games, and a chef’s-gone-wild venue where dishes may arrive smoking or popping. Virgin encourages donations to marine conservation, sources sustainable seafood, and bans most single-use plastics; plus, heat from the ship’s engines generates some electricity (decreasing fuel demand). Best for spa loversInspired by the graceful lines and rich tones of a luxurious private yacht, the 600-passenger Seabourn Ovation is one of Seabourn’s slickest ships. A wide range of dining venues, including the Grill by Thomas Keller, offers impressive culinary choices as the ship explores Asia, Australia and New Zealand and the eastern Mediterranean.

To help you navigate the waters of luxury cruises (and to help you find the best pampering cruise ship), check out the seven best luxury cruises sailing right now. It doesn’t get much more luxurious than white-glove-garbed, tux-attired butlers—and that’s exactly what you’ll find on Silversea’s Silver Endeavor, all in addition to world-class service. Even more, with a one-to-one passenger-to-crew ratio, the service truly feels like a seven-star yachting experience—leaving less time worrying about unnecessary details and more time to spend together. Oceania Riviera dining is legendary across all of the cruise ship's dining venues, including complimentary specialty restaurants. And if you love balconies, the suites on Regent Seven Seas Splendor are some of the largest afloat, ranging from 83 to 1,292 square feet.

Speaking of fancy, the most luxurious cruise that Silversea offers is its 125-Day Chile to Norway sail, which rings up at $94,700. You don’t have to invest that much to enjoy a Silversea cruise, though. No matter which type of suite you book, you can expect butler service, optional 24/7 in-suite dining, endless access to premium beverages and craft cocktails, and complimentary caviar around the clock. Silversea is the “jewel in the crown” of the Royal Caribbean Group, not to mention the original luxury cruise line, first entering the space in 1994.

It’s also worth mentioning that the luxury cruise line took it to the next level with its spa, Aurora Spa. Oceania Cruises has just seven ships, but the debut of the brand-new Oceania Vista catapults this cruise line into the luxury division. The cruise line's relatively new Go Local shore excursions for small groups bring travelers to under-the-radar destinations, T+L contributing editor and long-time cruiser Sarah Greaves-Gabbadon reported recently.

Her 2022 cruise on Riviera included 70 excursions "from canoeing Croatia’s Cetina River to cooking classes in Athens." Catering to adventurous luxury cruise travelers with money to spend, the new cruise line Atlas Ocean Voyages, which debuted in the summer of 2021, offers upscale experiences on small ships that carry just 196 passengers. The ship is notable for its many dining venues, including a restaurant by Thomas Keller(the famed chef known for his restaurants Per Se in New York and The French Laundry in Napa Valley). You'll also find a sushi venue, new and upscale alfresco dinner option on the pool deck, plus the main restaurant and buffet/casual dining venue. As with all Seabourn ships, Champagne and caviar are available, gratis, at all times and in any spot onboard.

There were jeeps or ATVs available to rent for those who wanted to beach-hop, but we settled into the sand at Sun Bay. Virgin Island of St. John the following day, there were yachts and catamarans everywhere – and the Sakara fit right in. I was on the maiden voyage of the 360-foot Sakara, a December 2023 sailing with the added glamor of a Champagne christening in San Juan, Puerto Rico, led by the ship’s godmother Kelly Craighead. She is president of Cruise Lines International Association, the industry’s leading trade organization. For a relaxed resort atmosphere where passengers of all ages are made to feel welcome, book a sailing on the recently launched Explora I. On Virgin Voyages, an entire cruise line designed around the 18-and-over set, adults are sure to have some fun.

Scenic's all-inclusive fares include dining and drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities, airport transfers and shore excursions led by the line's knowledgeable expedition leaders. Sure, its ships have reinforced hulls capable of breaking through ice, but they also feature chic bars serving 130 different kinds of whiskey (all included in your fare) and high-end onboard spas (treatments cost extra, alas). Not all cabins are suites, but the top suites on the ship come with butler service. Also, should you dare to consider the outside world, you can connect with friends and family back home with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the ship. Throughout the ship, complimentary spirits, fine wines and house Champagne flow freely.

And like most lines operating in this sector, there is a strong emphasis on food with two stand-out restaurants on most ships -- Pacific Rim and Chartreuse, as well as great steak house, Prime 7. And let's not forget that the cruise line offers its signature Champagne and Caviar Splash on Caribbean voyages. This decadent spread includes a Champagne toast and buffet loaded with caviar and other snacks, all to be enjoyed during a shoreside beach barbecue. Foodies might also wish to pay a visit to the well-equipped Culinary Center onboard Oceania Riviera (as well as on twin sister ship Oceania Marina). It's a self-contained cooking school at sea that offers hands-on experience at 12 individual cooking stations (two people per station). Classes focusing on a variety of topics do incur an extra fee, but get rave reviews from past participants.

Port of Miami Cruise Parking Where to Park: Prices, Profiles, & Map

miami cruise port parking

You can park for free (or a discount) at a number of hotels in the area in exchange for a night’s stay. These hotels offer parking as a perk to attract cruise passengers. The lot is located about 1.5 miles driving from the cruise terminals. Reservations are available on their website, which we recommend to ensure you have a spot when you arrive. Carnival Cruise Line currently uses Miami cruise terminals D and E. There are onsite parking lots close to both these terminals.

What Does Safe Cruise Parking Offer You?

While it is more expensive, we would suggest the parking at the Port of Miami. Navigating Miami can be difficult, so it’s nice to be able to park right at your ship and simply walk across a street to board. It’s also convenient in that you don’t have to pre-book or reserve anything. While it is the priciest option, we recommend that cruise passengers simply park at the official port lots.

The Cruise Parking Miami

It’s advisable to have your cruise parking arrangements confirmed before your arrival. Standard cruise car parking rates apply; however, there are some exceptions. Located just minutes from the Port, our facility provides a complimentary roundtrip shuttle service. Viking Ocean Cruises – Viking offers River and Ocean cruises, but only the Ocean Cruises use Miami as a home port.

Port of Miami Cruise Parking Facts and Figures

As with most services, cruise parking rates vary depending upon the convenience to the port and the parking services included. The closer you are to the port, generally, the higher the cost of cruise parking. However, there are several alternative options that you might want to consider. No wonder Miami is nicknamed the “Cruise Capital of the World”! Of course, many of these cruisers arrive by car and use the many options available for Miami cruise port parking. Be prepared with our full Miami cruise port parking guide with official and nearby lots, prices, and plenty of tips for getting to the port.

PortMiami

As you can imagine, the logistics of efficiently handling millions of cruise passengers and their vehicles arriving and departing from this island port in Miami are considerable. The port of Miami is subject to traffic, accidents, port authority checks, and events that can sometimes delay and interrupt services. Safe Cruise Parking ensures your mind stays on your fun-filled cruise vacation and not on your car. We make sure your vacation gets off to a nice start with our great customer service, and we make sure your vacation has a great ending as well. Oceania Cruises – With Oceania Cruises you can enjoy your cruise with an award-winning cruise line.

Use Uber or Lyft instead of driving in the city.

Even if you’re not using the airport, you can still park there, and it’s cheaper than parking at the Port of Miami. The airport is only about 9 or 10 miles from the cruise terminal. They charge $17 per day and you can park there for a maximum of 60 days. Airport Parking Reservations will list all the lots and prices available during your stay to help you find the best deals, some of which are as low as $4 per night! Take the free shuttle to the airport and then the $2.25 express airport bus into the city and you’ll find yourself saving some serious cash with this option. Port of Miami parking stands as the epitome of convenience for cruise passengers.

Via the Port of Miami Tunnel

However, two hours of complimentary parking will be provided to vehicles displaying a disabled parking permit or license tag. The Miami cruise port has some of the most modern terminals in the world, all of them designed to move passengers quickly and efficiently from land to sea and back again. There’s convenient parking (as we’ve noted early in this article) for all terminals, and the entry ways allow for easy check-in and boarding. You’ll free parking for up to 7 days and a shuttle to the cruise port. Just select their Park & Go package when booking your stay. The Hilton has a Park & Go package with free parking and shuttle service to and from the cruise port, as well as the Miami International Airport.

One of the World’s Largest Cruise Ships That Nobody Is Talking...

Exotic destinations include the Eastern and Western Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, as well as West Coast USA, Alaska and South America via the Panama Canal. It all means there’s a high demand for cruise parking space in Miami, especially in the peak winter season. Wherever you decide to park or stay while visiting Miami, we hope you have fun and enjoy your cruise.

The best option for convenience and for handicapped visitors is to park on-site at the port. If there are budget restraints, Miami has various other parking options for far less, and many of them also offer shuttle service. Runway offers cruise packages to their guests with free parking and free transportation to the cruise port. Upon returning, they’ll pick you up and take you back to the hotel for $10 per person. Just like the official port parking, handicap vehicles can park in accessible parking areas and will be charged the regular rate. Those with special equipment, FL State disabled veterans license plates, or a Florida Toll Exemption permit will be exempt from parking fees.

In addition to all of that, when you book with their cruise package, you’re automatically upgrade to the club floor, and you get a full breakfast buffet for two. Red Roof has a Snooze & Cruise deal that allows you to park for up to 14 days. You’ll also get a coupon for 15% off the nearby food truck and a shuttle to the port. See the best ways to get from the Miami airport to the cruise port here. Quick Park at Miami Cruise Port Parking is owned and operated by another cruise parking company with multiple locations on the east coast. Luckily finding a place to park while you take your cruise isn’t as painful as you may think it is.

The extra package cost is lower than the price of parking at the Port of Miami, which charges $22 per day. To be sure, if you don’t plan to stay in a hotel before your trip already, it’s not worth it to book a room just to get the parking. But if you already want to stay nearby before your cruise, then a hotel with a parking package can save you money over parking at the port. Quality Inn Miami Airport is close to Miami Airport and 13 miles from the cruise port. This 2-star hotel charges around $92 for a night’s stay which includes breakfast.

One thing we found confusing when navigating their website, is that other locations and addresses are mentioned, while when you go to book it only gives you the above three options. It’s possible they may not have updated their website in a while. Most travelers in Florida who rent cars quickly discover that this state loves toll roads. Luckily, the SunPass is easy to buy and will save you money on every fare.
